VS Rugby were at their brilliant best on Tuesday night.

Butlin Road's renowned cup fighters began adding some glory to its bread and butter league season, writes Eddy Pincham.

They teamwork harassed its way to a first win over Dartford in seven meetings over three seasons.

Dartford were left with a big hill to climb in the second leg at Butlin Road on meeting in an attempt to claim this trophy for a third successive season.

The pressure VS put on the Kent side was so great that it forced two spectacular first half goals from striker Mark Rosegreen in the 28th minute and midfielder Steve Butterworth in the 36th.

Dartford were full of retreat when 'Rosy' Rosegreen nicked his fifth goal for the club. Butterworth brought it about for them at his fifth goal for the club.

Dartford were full of retreat when 'Rosy' Rosegreen nicked his fifth goal for the club. Butterworth brought it about for them.

It was Butterworth's opportunism which earned him his 17th goal of the season. He battled at Mark Keen's possession and won a good tackle which saw the ball settle for him to run past Oliver and about the open goal.

Ian Brown's desperation sliding tackle nudged the ball onto a post and on a post and on.

Acting manager Knox who looked after things while Jimmy Knox recovers from his knee problem, said: "The side did a wonderful job.

"We came to close Dartford down and not allow them to play. That is what we achieved."
